Reference Books for General Insurance, CFP

Posted by Prashant Shah on June 7, 2013

I believe many of us lack the course material for general insurance. Here are some smaller handbooks which may help us understand general insurance better as per LOS of Insurance Planning.

Click to download.

  1. Health Insurance Handbook
  2. MotorInsurancHandbook
  3. Property Insurance Handbook
  4. Travel_Insurance_Handbook

Note: Handbooks belongs to IRDA and published here for the benefit of readers.

        Sir,

I have appeared for revised Insurance module thrice but couldn’t clear it. I was given guidance by the FPSB team to solve the sample questions which I did but wasn’t much helpful. The questions I personally felt was too difficult. I am confused as to what to do now. Especially, the theory questions are bouncer. I have cleared my other three modules only because of the notes and other help from this site..i.e. prashant sir’s site. I would really appreciate if you could give me some notes as well as questionaires for more practice,so that I to clear it at a shot.

      • Dear Harsh,

I understand the difficulty level of this exam. Many of my students who have given this exam have suggested the same. Focus bit more on time value (it helps). As far as notes are concerned, read IC33 (relevant topics) and general insurance handbooks. Also learn reinstatement and market value methods in GI and HLV in LI.

Ask the doubts we all are here to help.

        Prashant.

Prashant sir can u upload a book called IC 34 of general insurance which gives good info on general insurance. This book is used by general insurance agents.

    • IC 34 is not available in soft copy. However ICAI has good book on general insurance. You can search the same on google and can download the same. I have the book but can not upload the same. Go ahead and search the same.

      Regards,
